MY REVIEW…BACK POCKET COACH is a quick read for those times when you need to articulate the right words for various situations you wish to have a positive outcome, for times you need to reflect on what to do, or for times you need to create some sort of training workshop for your team. The short book can easily be read from beginning to end as it’s a very short read. Or you can go to the table of contents and pick one of 33 topic strategies for your need and get tips on how to best handle the conversation or situation. The 33 strategies are broken up into six parts: one-on-one conversations, conversations on the fly, in meetings, self-reflection, situations and issues, and game changing conversations. While it’s geared towards the professional life, there are many topics that could also be used outside of the office. For me personally, the self-reflection section is the best, especially when it comes time for quarterly/annual reviews or even to just reflect on how my life is currently going.
My rating? 3 out of 5 stars. If the strategies were expanded on a bit more, I’d probably give it a 4.
